About this event
We invite you to join us for an engaging pre-conference tour that will explore several of Chattanooga's innovative green infrastructure installations. The tour will include a visit to the Anderson Avenue GI Demonstration project constructed as a retrofit in a historical urban neighborhood. We will then head to Warner Park to visit one of the best maintained bioretention sites in the state that is home to over 100 different native species! Following will be a mid tour stop at the City's WellAdvantage Center to refresh and see a combination of both traditional and GI features working as a treatment train. Lastly, we will visit Finley Stadium, the location of Tennessee's first pervious concrete, installed in 1997. Be there to meet the original contractor to discuss the project's details and its unique patented installation process and to observe a demonstration of pervious concrete cleaning conducted by the TN Concrete Association. This tour will provide a valuable firsthand look at how Chattanooga has historically been addressing stormwater management through the implementation of innovative green infrastructure.
